Recommendations for Daily Antioxidants
Higher levels are now set for vitamin C and E. Epidemiological and clinical studies suggest that antioxidants, notably vitamin C and E, can lower the risk of heart disease, some forms of cancer, cataracts, and macular degeneration. Antioxidants are known to help neutralize the by-products of metabolism the so-called ¡°free radicals,¡± that can damage critical cellular components.
